Rentgo Terms & Conditions

1) Definitions
- “Rentgo” refers to the Rentgo platform/website.
- “Vendor” refers to the rental company or owner listing the vehicle.
- “Renter / Customer” refers to the person making a booking.
- “Booking” refers to a confirmed rental reservation for a selected vehicle and time period.
2) Eligibility & Required Documents
- Minimum age: 18 years old (Vendor may require higher age for certain vehicles).
- Valid driving license and a government-issued ID are required during pickup.
- Rentgo and/or the Vendor may refuse handover if documents are invalid or do not match the booking.
3) Booking Accuracy
- Please ensure pickup/return date & time are correct before checkout.
- The rental period is calculated from the selected pickup to return time.
- Delays by the renter do not automatically extend the rental period.
4) Rental Period & Charges
- Rental fees shown on Rentgo are for the selected period and are paid online (unless stated otherwise).
- Vendors may apply additional charges for after-hours handling, special delivery, or driving outside agreed zones (if applicable).
- Traffic fines, penalties, tolls, parking, and administrative fees are the renter’s responsibility.
5) Deposit Policy (Vendor-handled)
- Some vehicles require a security deposit which is paid directly to the Vendor at pickup (cash/bank transfer/card depending on the Vendor).
- The deposit amount and accepted methods are determined by the Vendor and shown on the vehicle page where possible.
- Deposit may be withheld for damages, missing fuel, cleaning, late returns, violations, or other costs under Vendor terms.
Note: Unless specifically stated, Rentgo does not collect or hold the deposit.
6) Vehicle Use, Responsibility & Prohibited Use
- Renters are responsible for the vehicle during the rental period, including reasonable care and safe driving.
- No driving under the influence of alcohol or drugs.
- No illegal use, reckless driving, racing, or misuse of the vehicle.
- No unauthorized modifications or alterations.
7) Fuel, Cleanliness & Condition
- Vehicles must be returned in the same condition as collected (normal wear accepted).
- Fuel policy depends on the Vendor (commonly: return with the same fuel level; many require a full tank).
- No smoking in the vehicle. Cleaning fees may apply for smoke, odors, stains, or excessive dirtiness.
- Renter should switch off lights/electronics to avoid battery-related issues.
8) Accidents, Breakdowns & Incident Reporting
- All accidents or incidents must be reported to the Vendor as soon as possible (recommended within 24 hours).
- Follow the Vendor’s accident protocol (police report, photos, etc.) if required.
- Renter may be responsible for towing or repair costs depending on circumstances and Vendor policy.
9) Travel Limitations
- Cross-border travel (e.g., Sabah/Brunei/Indonesia) may be restricted and requires written Vendor approval.
- Driving outside Kuching (or outside the stated area) may incur additional charges depending on the Vendor.
10) Extensions, Late Returns & Late Payments
- Extensions must be requested in advance and are subject to Vendor approval and availability.
- Late returns may incur extra charges.
- Late payments (if any balance is owed to the Vendor) may incur service charges.
11) Cancellations & Refunds
- Cancellation and refund rules may vary by Vendor and may depend on timing and vehicle availability.
- If a Vendor states “non-cancellable”, then the booking cannot be cancelled once confirmed.
- Deposit refunds (if any) are handled by the Vendor based on their policy.
12) Vendor-Specific Terms
Some Vendors publish their own terms (example: deposit amount, fuel rule, travel limits, cancellation). When a Vendor’s terms are provided, you agree to them in addition to Rentgo’s marketplace terms.
13) Limitation of Liability
- Rentgo provides the booking platform and does not own the vehicles unless explicitly stated.
- Vehicle handover, condition, and on-road responsibilities are primarily between the renter and the Vendor.
- To the extent permitted by law, Rentgo is not liable for indirect losses arising from delays, cancellations, or disputes between renter and Vendor.
14) Policy Updates
Rentgo may update these Terms & Conditions from time to time. Continued use of the platform indicates acceptance of the latest version.
