Rentgo is a car rental marketplace. Each vehicle is supplied by an independent rental partner (“Vendor”). Some rules below are global; vendor-specific terms may also apply and will be shown on the vehicle page and/or confirmed by the Vendor.

1) Definitions

  • “Rentgo” refers to the Rentgo platform/website.
  • “Vendor” refers to the rental company or owner listing the vehicle.
  • “Renter / Customer” refers to the person making a booking.
  • “Booking” refers to a confirmed rental reservation for a selected vehicle and time period.

2) Eligibility & Required Documents

  • Minimum age: 18 years old (Vendor may require higher age for certain vehicles).
  • Valid driving license and a government-issued ID are required during pickup.
  • Rentgo and/or the Vendor may refuse handover if documents are invalid or do not match the booking.

3) Booking Accuracy

  • Please ensure pickup/return date & time are correct before checkout.
  • The rental period is calculated from the selected pickup to return time.
  • Delays by the renter do not automatically extend the rental period.

4) Rental Period & Charges

  • Rental fees shown on Rentgo are for the selected period and are paid online (unless stated otherwise).
  • Vendors may apply additional charges for after-hours handling, special delivery, or driving outside agreed zones (if applicable).
  • Traffic fines, penalties, tolls, parking, and administrative fees are the renter’s responsibility.

5) Deposit Policy (Vendor-handled)

  • Some vehicles require a security deposit which is paid directly to the Vendor at pickup (cash/bank transfer/card depending on the Vendor).
  • The deposit amount and accepted methods are determined by the Vendor and shown on the vehicle page where possible.
  • Deposit may be withheld for damages, missing fuel, cleaning, late returns, violations, or other costs under Vendor terms.

Note: Unless specifically stated, Rentgo does not collect or hold the deposit.

6) Vehicle Use, Responsibility & Prohibited Use

  • Renters are responsible for the vehicle during the rental period, including reasonable care and safe driving.
  • No driving under the influence of alcohol or drugs.
  • No illegal use, reckless driving, racing, or misuse of the vehicle.
  • No unauthorized modifications or alterations.

7) Fuel, Cleanliness & Condition

  • Vehicles must be returned in the same condition as collected (normal wear accepted).
  • Fuel policy depends on the Vendor (commonly: return with the same fuel level; many require a full tank).
  • No smoking in the vehicle. Cleaning fees may apply for smoke, odors, stains, or excessive dirtiness.
  • Renter should switch off lights/electronics to avoid battery-related issues.

8) Accidents, Breakdowns & Incident Reporting

  • All accidents or incidents must be reported to the Vendor as soon as possible (recommended within 24 hours).
  • Follow the Vendor’s accident protocol (police report, photos, etc.) if required.
  • Renter may be responsible for towing or repair costs depending on circumstances and Vendor policy.

9) Travel Limitations

  • Cross-border travel (e.g., Sabah/Brunei/Indonesia) may be restricted and requires written Vendor approval.
  • Driving outside Kuching (or outside the stated area) may incur additional charges depending on the Vendor.

10) Extensions, Late Returns & Late Payments

  • Extensions must be requested in advance and are subject to Vendor approval and availability.
  • Late returns may incur extra charges.
  • Late payments (if any balance is owed to the Vendor) may incur service charges.

11) Cancellations & Refunds

  • Cancellation and refund rules may vary by Vendor and may depend on timing and vehicle availability.
  • If a Vendor states “non-cancellable”, then the booking cannot be cancelled once confirmed.
  • Deposit refunds (if any) are handled by the Vendor based on their policy.

12) Vendor-Specific Terms

Some Vendors publish their own terms (example: deposit amount, fuel rule, travel limits, cancellation). When a Vendor’s terms are provided, you agree to them in addition to Rentgo’s marketplace terms.

13) Limitation of Liability

  • Rentgo provides the booking platform and does not own the vehicles unless explicitly stated.
  • Vehicle handover, condition, and on-road responsibilities are primarily between the renter and the Vendor.
  • To the extent permitted by law, Rentgo is not liable for indirect losses arising from delays, cancellations, or disputes between renter and Vendor.

14) Policy Updates

Rentgo may update these Terms & Conditions from time to time. Continued use of the platform indicates acceptance of the latest version.
